CO2
blasting is a cleaning system that uses dry ice (solid CO2 in
pellets). Dirt is removed both because solid carbon dioxide (T
= -78°) makes it more fragile and thanks to the mechanical
action of the pellet. A characteristic feature of solid CO2
is that from solid it turns directly to gas, leaving no residue
to be disposed of. Because of this feature it is possible to do
the cleaning on the production site, saving the time that would
otherwise be necessary to disassemble and reassemble the parts
to be cleaned. Because of the efficacy of cryogenics in removing
dirt, the rapidity of execution and the absolute eco-compatibility
of the treatment, today from the economic and environmental standpoints
CO2 blasting is the most competitive technology.
SOL
has applied CO2 blasting in numberless companies,
to the cleaning of building façades and monuments, selling
or renting the whole equipment or providing a complete cleaning
service carried out by specialists.
